HOD Message

Mechanical Engineering is an evergreen branch and happens to be the back bone of any industry with amazing versatility. The department of Mechanical Engineering strives to train students in mechanical engineering science as well as application of these scientific methods to conceive, organize & carry out scientific design of engineering system.

The departments professional programme includes a deeper study of number of engineering sciences to which the students are introduced at the core curriculum level, experimental solution of physical problems, techniques and method of design of system relevant to the contemporary industrial world. The broad areas include Energy Conversion , Power Systems, Heat Transfer , Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids , Stress Analysis, Manufacturing Science, Industrial Engineering , Automatic Control and Engineering Design.

The department has well-equipped labs to impart sound practical knowledge of the subject. The practical aspects of the curriculum are in no way less important than the theoretical knowledge for the proper understanding of the basic concepts. With this objective in mind a sound practical knowledge is being imparted to the students.

The department has dedicated and competent faculty members to impart quality education to enable the student to be placed with reputed organizations. Professionally managed organizations visit for campus selection and the placement of Mechanical Engineering students is almost 100%.



Academics

The Mechanical Engineering programme is rated high amongst programmes offered by Rajasthan Technical University. Excellent academic performance is the most redeeming feature of the Department at the institute.Students regularly feature amongst the Institute rank holders. It has an excellent Placement record 80% of the eligible students are offered lucrative jobs through campus interviews on a regular basis.

The Department assimilates three simple elements: Gifted, erudite and talented faculty; an emphasis on fundamental principles of core sciences; and an academic ambience that inspires one to address the technological challenges of the future. Many of the members of the faculty have earned to their credit quite a number of praiseworthy research papers published in the national and international journals. The department organizes seminars and workshops on varied topics every year. The department has very good Industry-Institute interaction and has conducted several short courses for working professionals from industry such as AUTO CADD. The faculties are actively engaged in research and consultancy in addition to regular academic work.
