Anti Ragging Cell

The institute aims at maintaining a healthy and congenial academic environment that will protect the new entrants from the menace of ragging. To deal with ragging incidents anti ragging cell has been established which includes Dean Students’ Welfare, teachers and student volunteers. All cases of ragging will be referred to this cell for prompt disciplinary action against the erring students. Posters are put on the walls to convey clear cut messages that warn the students of the consequences of ragging. Written undertakings are also taken that if anyone is found indulging in ragging he/she is likely to be punished appropriately. The punishment may be in the form of expulsion from the campus, suspension from the classes or fine with a public apology. There is strict watch on the seniors inside and outside the campus. Hostel authorities are also put on high alert.

"If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the Institution".

Anti Ragging Committee

As per the directives of the Honorable Supreme Court, the UGC has issued strict guidelines to all the institution of higher education to check and curb the menace of the ragging on campus. The Director of the institution has been pleased to constitute an Anti Ragging Committee & Anti Ragging Squad comprising of following members for the academic session 2013-14.The committee member shall work as per provisions of AICTE & RTU guidelines to ensure and check ragging of the students.

Responsibilities and Function:

  • Committee has to ensure that no ragging like activity is going on in the campus
  • If committee finds any such case then it has to take strict action against those students
  • SThe committee will take serious action against such students as per the guidelines issued by the honorable Supreme Court
  • In other cases of indiscipline in the institution the committee will take action against such students:
    • Punishment- The Student may be debarred from the college for a certain period.. It depends upon the seriousness of the case.
    • He/She may be given financial punishment if he/she has damaged college property.
    • Student can be debarred permanently from the college if he/she is involved in any serious act
  • It is the prime responsibility of the committee to inform the higher authorities as well as the parents.
