ORIENTATION PROGRAM

A comprehensive Orientation Program for all the classes from 1st year to 4th year was conducted in IIMET at the beginning of the session 2013-14. The focus was on giving the students a positive feel of IIMET and letting them know our concern for their betterment and make them feel responsible for their career growth.

The Orientation Program for 1st year was conducted in two stages. In the first instance, the students were given a road map for the year ahead through PPT presentations and interaction with the faculty. In the second stage, they had a meeting with the Principal, wherein it was impressed upon them that though the college would do the utmost to assist them to achieve their career goal, ultimately it is they who are the architects of their destiny.

Similarly, Department-wise orientation with PPT presentations and interaction with the Principal and HODs was conducted for 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year students to give them a clear understanding of the road map for the year and their responsibilities and obligations. They were told about the technical skills they need to develop through the study of courses, project work, industry visits, practical training, grooming and soft skills development. The 3rd year students will particularly be assigned leadership roles in the organization of events, workshops, etc. to give them an idea of management skills.

The focus of the Orientation Program for the 4th year students was on their development into placeable  professionals and for that they are being given intensive Campus Recruitment Training of 45 days conducted by trained professionals.
