NSS & ROTRACT CLUB-2013
The National Service Scheme (NSS) of IIMET, in association with Rotract club have organized Blood donation camp in the college premises on 20 October 2013. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. All the students, faculty and staff members participated voluntarily in the camp. This camp helped students in getting awareness about their social responsibilities and showed enthusiastic participation for the same.Ms. Rashmi R. Bhardwaj played a key role in successful organization of the camp.
Dr. R. K Lohadia appreciated the initiative taken up by the students of IIMET and also assured to extend support of Rotract for similar activities in the institute in future. Dr. Sardar Singh Principal of IIMET in his presidential remarks congratulated the NSS and Rotract team for having organized an event of social benefit and also assured to support for similar events in the days to come. About 32 students/ staff and public have volunteered in this camp for donating blood.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME CAMP-2012
IIMET College organized the 4th National Service Scheme Camp under the leadership of Prof. Smt. Rashmi R.Bhardwaj. The camp was held at Shri Krishna Gopal Gaushala in Mohanpura Village in Sanganer, Jaipur. It is run by Mr. Kailash Ladha, a well known philanthropist and environmentalist devoted to social causes.
Sixty-five students from the college participated in this 4-day camp and performed various activities in the cowshed and adjoining pieces of agricultural land including collecting cowdung, digging for tree plantation, leveling the field and cleaning of the agricultural land. This encouraged the students to engage in team work and also know the importance of cows in our lives.
On the second day, special hawan was conducted in the gaushala for the students after which they performed shramdan. On the third day, a yoga workshop was held for the students and faculty by the yoga instructor, Prahlad Vyas where they learnt about the important techniques and advantages of yoga. On the last day, students again performed shramdan.
Through this four day national service camp the students understood the importance of hard work, service and team spirit. They also got a chance to understand the Indian culture and values and know the impact of yoga, hawan and prayer on human beings in today’s changing life style. They realized that ‘seva’ and concern for others bring a fulfilling experience in life.
